Building the "Write" Foundation
As plainly as I can say it, writing saved my life. At age 9 & because of self-esteem issues, I was faced with the choice to either hurt myself, hurt someone else, or start writing. I thank God everyday that I chose to start writing. From age 9 to 18, little did I know that poetry would become my passion. In 2005, I accepted my calling as a poet after my best friend told me that a poem I recited kept him from committing suicide. It was at that moment that I realized the power of words. From the past I knew all to well that words could hurt, but I wanted my words to help & heal people.
The Passionate Professional Poet
As I grew in my writing, my love for poetry & helping people turned into a business. With that love, I've published 6 books, became the President of the Spartan City Poetry Club & a Professional Trainer/Speaker, & helped other poets discover their artistic voice. Through poetry, I've found my calling & my purpose. My life's mission is to use my Bachelor's Degree from Hendrix College, my passion for helping people develop, & my writing & communications skills to help others find their calling & purpose in life. Whether it's art, leadership, business, or a motivational word, I truly want to help people get to the next level.
